My Journey To Becoming A Therapist

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.

When my sister died while I was in college, I felt completely numb for quite some time. Instead of taking time to grieve, I just tried to push through with my responsibilities (attending classes, working etc.), which resulted in bad grades and reckless behavior. I decided to see a therapist, but I didn't have a good experience initially. It wasn't until a few years later that I went to a therapist with whom I could develop a good rapport and work on my grief and emotional numbness.

My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today.

Helping People Energizes Me.

Being a therapist is fulfilling. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, more free, and excited about their life.

I am committed to encouraging you to see healing and transformation.

I Have Empathy For Others And Bring An Open, Non-judgmental Presence To Sessions.

I have a natural ability to:

  • Help people identify what they are feeling

  • Help people feel comfortable

  • Be flexible on the path of discovering what's going on

  • Help clients heal their past and manage the present

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can help people feel heard and understood which helps people feel seen and start to heal.

As A Therapist, I Embrace The Following Philosophies:

  • I believe that survivors are not what happened to them.

  • I believe that emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated.

  • I believe that you are strong enough to be present with what you may be going through.

  • I believe that sometimes small steps in the right direction end up being the biggest steps in the end.

  • I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all is one of the most courageous things we can do.

Our Sessions Are Focused On You.

Sessions will provide you with the space to be understood and heard. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and ensure that the process is collaborative. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to Therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
